INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An Indianapolis woman says she was attacked by two strange men while staying at an area hotel.
Robin Haywood checked into the Gateway Motel in 1700 block of Lafayette Road on Sunday.
Haywood had just settled into her room when she heard a knock on the door. On the other side of the door stood a man who asked to use her phone.
Haywood opened the door and the man slipped in. He then began to rummage through Haywood's dresser drawers, asking for a strange woman.
“He thought his girlfriend was there. He was looking around pulling out my (dresser) drawers everything,” said Haywood.
Haywood repeated she didn't know the woman, and the man left.
Later that night, the same man came back to Haywood's room. This time, there was a second man with him. The two forced their way into Haywood's room, she told police.
“I didn’t do anything wrong. I was in my own room minding my own business, not bothering anybody,” said Haywood.
One of the suspects sat in a chair while the other one screamed and beat Haywood for three hours, asking for the whereabouts of a strange woman. Suddenly, the suspect told Haywood to go to the bathroom and the two men left, she says.
Management at the motel released video of two men leaving Haywood's unit to police, but they declined to give us a copy.
Investigators say they are still reviewing the facts of this case.
