LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Josh Lindblom Foundation hosted its first Charity Game Night on January 21, 2011 to support Food Finders Food Bank’s Tippecanoe County BackPack Program. Josh and Aurielle Lindblom presented a check to the Food Finders Food Bank on Friday morning.
The Charity Game Night, presented by Hays and Sons Complete Restoration, hosted over 300 generous participants, including Indiana Senator, Ron Alting, and Lafayette Mayor, Tony Roswarski.
The $ 20,000 raised by the Josh Lindblom Foundation will be kept in the Greater Lafayette community, where Josh and Aurielle Lindblom were raised, to help local families and children.
"It's really a combination of everybody's hard work. What Aurielle did, what we did in the off season, gonig around and acquiring items for the auction. Really the true heros are the people who were there that were able to contribute and help support our cause. How this funding is going to be able to provide opportunities for kids that wouldn't have it otherwise. That's the whole goal of what we want to do for the foundation and give kids the opportunity they wouldn't have otherwise," said Josh Lindblom.
Food Finders Food Bank appreciates the support and dedication of the Josh Lindblom Foundation for the Tippecanoe County BackPack Programs and is grateful to be the recipient of the Foundation’s Charity Game Night donations. Currently, Food Finders distributes over 3,500 backpacks each week throughout the 16-county service area.
"This was an unexpected funding source and really an unexpected amound, $20,000. So, we are just so grateful to Josh and Aurielle for thinking of this and for making us the beneficiary of it. It's going to be a wonderful benefit to Tippecanoe County children," said Executive Director of Food Finders Food Bank Katy Bunder.
The Josh Lindblom Foundation’s mission is to promote awareness and raise funds for families and children in need and to provide financial support for other charitable organizations. The foundation also strives to facilitate the dreams of others. Josh attributes many of his accomplishments in his career to those who mentored him in the Lafayette community.
