WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Purdue starting quarterback Caleb TerBush was suspended for the season opener against Eastern Kentucky for a "violation of team rules," according to a release issued an hour before kickoff.
Tight end Sterling Carter was also been suspended for a violation of team rules.
TerBush's suspension meant that fellow senior Robert Marve was the starter in the Boilermakers season opener.
TerBush, a team captain, started every game for the Boilermakers last season and was the projected starter and was number 1 on the depth chart for all the Boilermakers off-season workouts and practices leading up to Saturdays game against Eastern Kentucky.
