WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Purdue's volleyball team held their first scrimmage of the season on Saturday at Belin Court.
The Boilers have six new faces joining this year's squad. Among those is former McCutcheon player Amanda Neill. She is playing for time in the back row.
Freshmen Annie Drews and Sam Epenesa played very well in their first scrimmage. Epenesa finished with 23 kills according to Purdue's stat crew.
"We have the arsenal to get it done. We have to become a team and every year is different," said head coach Dave Shondell. "It's our job as a team to make sure that we're ready and that we do all the things that we need to, to take advantage of the situation we get."
Purdue will hold another scrimmage next Saturday at 3 pm at Belin Court. The team will sign autographs after the scrimmage.
