WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - There was never any doubt who was going to win the game between Purdue and Lamar on Tuesday at Mackey Arena. Purdue jumped out to an early 19-8 lead and led at halftime 36-17. The Boilers went on to beat Lamar 72-39.
Purdue's Terone Johnson scored 16 points and pulled down 7 rebounds in the win. A.J. Hammons added 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Dru Anthrop played great defense, making four steals.
Purdue out rebounded Lamar 48-30 and forced the Cardinals in to shooting just 30 percent from the field.
The Boilermakers improve to 4-4 on the season. Purdue takes to the road to face Eastern Michigan on Saturday at 2 pm.
