WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Boilermaker football player was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after his performance at Iowa.
Purdue defensive tackle Kawann Short was given the honor after racking up a career-high 4.0 tackles for loss, including his fifth sack of the season, at Iowa last weekend.
Short finished the contest with six tackles, five solo, and his TFLs pushed the Hawkeyes back 15 yards.
Short was instrumental in limiting Iowa to merely 264 yards of total offense, including a meager 74 yards rushing.
The weekly honor is the third of his career (2 DPOW, 1 STPOW).
