WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Purdue defensive tackle Kawann Short has accepted an invitation to the 2013 Senior Bowl to be played Jan. 26, in Mobile, Ala. Short's invitation marks the seventh straight year at least one former Boilermaker will take part in the annual game.

The 2013 Senior Bowl is set to be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium and the game and all practices will be televised by NFL Network.

Short, who has started all 47 games of his Boilermaker career, enters the final two games of the 2012 regular season with 175 career total tackles, 46.5 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks, 14 passes broken up and two interceptions. He is currently third amongst active Football Bowl Subdivision players in career tackles for loss and tied for 15th in career sacks. At Purdue he is eighth all-time in school history in TFLs and ninth in sacks. Through 10 games this season, Short leads the Big Ten in TFLs (13.0) and is tied for fourth in sacks (5.0).

The Senior Bowl is college football's premier senior showcase event, annually featuring the nation's best senior collegiate football stars and top NFL draft prospects on teams coached by NFL coaching staffs.

Senior Bowl practices and game week festivities are attended by more than 800 general managers, head coaches, assistant coaches, scouts and other front office personnel from all 32 National Football League teams, making Mobile and the Senior Bowl the week-long host to a one-of-a-kind NFL Coaches Convention.
