WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - In the week leading up to Purdue's women's soccer game against Evansville, Purdue's Jordan Pawlik suffered a head injury during practice.

"It came at a bad time. We had just came off of a heartbreaking loss to Louisville and we were just ready to get back at it. I tried my best to get as healthy as I could as fast as I could," said Pawlik.

She battled back from her injury and ended up playing in the game against Evansville. She scored Purdue's first three goals to pull off the hat trick while helping lead the Boilers to the four nothing win.

"It was fun to bounce back. It is like a start of the season or the start of Big Ten because when you have been out for a while, you are just amped to play and there is no better time to come back," said Pawlik.

She recorded just the fourth hat trick in program history.

"I couldn't have scored those three goals without my teammates. It is just another game, another win and another step for this team going forward."

Through seven games this season, Pawlik leads the team in goals scored with six.

Purdue women's soccer team finished in a 2-2 tie against West Virginia on Sunday. The Boilers are 4-2-1 on the season.
