INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) - Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano has been battling leukemia for the past few weeks. On Sunday, Pagano was able to attend the Colts game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Colts put on quite the show for their head coach as they beat the Dolphins 23-20 on a career day for Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.

"Chuck (Pagano) was obviously at the game," said Colts' interim head coach Bruce Arians. "He was good enough to speak to the team before the game and then obviously we just had a great locker room moment with him. He’s about to undertake a very, very serious week of his treatment, but he’ll bounce back, we know he will.

Luck completed 30-48 for 433 yards and two touchdowns. Luck set the all-time record for most yards thrown for in a game by a rookie quarterback.

"His play today was superb," said Arians. "It was Pro Bowl caliber play. I know he broke the rookie single game record, I believe. It was a team effort. I can’t say enough about our tackles, they played their tails off against some really good pass rushers. They took the challenge and went with it.”

The Colts receivers also put up some amazing numbers in the win. Donnie Avery caught five passes for 108 yards. Rookie T.Y. Hilton added six catches for 102 yards and a touchdown.

The Colts trailed 17-13 at halftime but found a way to rally back and pick up their fifth win of the season. The Colts improve to 5-3 on the year. Head coach Chuck Pagano addressed the team in the locker room after the game. Arians relayed his message to the media.

"Just the ride we’re on," said Arians. "It was a very personal message to the team. Circumstances are what they are, you’ve got to make the best of them and you’ve got to fight."
