LAS VEGAS (AP) — Denny Hamlin was fined $25,000 by NASCAR today for criticizing the new Gen-6 race car after last week's race at Phoenix, but the driver says he won't pay. Hamlin compared the new race car unfavorably to last year's car after his third-place finish in Phoenix.

MOSCOW (AP) —There are new concerns about huge cost overruns for the 2014 Winter Olympics. Russian auditors say the state company responsible for building facilities in Sochi has systematically overstated costs by a total of $504 million, bringing the current price tag to an estimated $51 billion. The 2008 Beijing Summer games cost a record $40 billion.
