VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (WLFI) - Fountain Central's football program has made winning a habit in recent years. Fountain Central played in two straight class 1A state title games in 2009 and 2010. The Mustangs won all of their regular season games last season but lost in the first round of sectionals against Northwestern.
Fountain Central's head coach Rick Malone then stepped down from his position. On Thursday, Malone's replacement was hired. Fountain Central's athletic director Brian Moore was approved for the position by the school board. He now takes over for a program that has a very rich history in football.
Moore had a 151-33 record while he was the head football coach at Seeger. He will still serve as athletic director at Fountain Central.
