WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Former Purdue basketball star Robbie Hummel was honored during halftime of Saturday night's game between Purdue and Michigan State.

Hummel was honored by seeing his number four banner hung in the rafters at Mackey Arena.

"It was special," said Hummel. "Something that I looked forward to since I was a little kid. And I always kind of dreamed about seeing my jersey hung in the rafters. You know, in terms of before, I didn't think I would get emotional. I almost started crying. I kind of got choked up. So it's cool to get up there with E'Twaun (Moore) and JaJuan (Johnson)."

Hummel  was also presented with the Big Ten Medal of Honor. It is an honor that his father, Glenn, also received during his college tennis career at the University of Illinois.
