Martin's Moments October 7

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - There were quite a few plays to select from this week for my Martin's Moments segment. I had some tough decisions to make but I found the three plays that I liked.

I decided to select Hayley Jacobs header that scored a goal in Harrison's sectional game against McCutcheon. It was an amazing play that gave the Raiders the lead. However, the Lady Mavericks came back to win the game. If McCutcheon didn't rally back then this play would have been higher this week.

I chose Tyler Munson's catch for my number two play this week. The weather conditions played a big factor this week in the area football games. This play was a result of the weather as the ball slipped out of Avery Acton's hands and into the hands of Munson. It was an impressive play and on most weeks it would have been my number one play.

However, the number one spot had to go to West Lafayette's Maurice Woodard. He didn't have one play that stood out to me but it was his overall performance. He rushed for 309 yards and five touchdowns in the win. With his 309 rushing, he became the single game leading rusher in program history and he also moved into first place at West Lafayette for the most rushing yards ever. What is really impressive is that he is just a junior!
