GAS CITY, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette Boxing Club member Kate Mane competed in her first boxing match in Gas City, Indiana on Saturday.
She fought three rounds against her opponent and was declared the winner.
"Just super excited that I won and, win or lose, I was just happy to get my first fight and just happy to be boxing," said Mane.
She plans on continuing to compete in more boxing matches as well as other combative sports in the near future.
"I am going to do some Judo and Jiu Jitsu tournaments in July and, hopefully, more boxing matches in the summer and the fall," said Mane.
Four other Lafayette Boxing Club members competed on Saturday night. Tate Sturgeon and Ryan Campbell each won their matches. Lester Williams II and Brandon Morgan lost.
