WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Purdue defensive backs coach Lou Anarumo has accepted a position on the staff of the Miami Dolphins. Anarumo spent eight seasons at Purdue after joining the Boilermakers in 2004.

"It is bittersweet," Purdue head coach Danny Hope said. "We will greatly miss having Lou on our coaching staff but could not be more excited for him to have this opportunity."

Anarumo worked with new Miami head coach Joe Philbin at both the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and Harvard.

Anarumo marks the third defensive coaching vacancy on Purdue's defensive staff this off-season. Former Defensive Coordinator Gary Emanuel was let go, followed by linebackers coach Phil Elmassian who took a job at Massachussetts.

Staying on the defensive side of the ball, Brian Neubert of Goldandblack.com is reporting that a defensive line coach could be announced in the coming days.
