MILWAUKEE, Wi. (WLFI) - Josh Lindblom has had quite a journey this year in the major leagues. His life changed drastically on July 31, 2012 when he was traded from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Philadelphia Phillies.
In a matter of minutes Josh Lindblom's world flipped upside down. From first to worst and from the west coast to the east coast. Needless to say, a lot has changed for the former Raider and Boilermaker.
"When our GM called me and told me that they were trading me to the Phillies for Shane Victorino and that I'm going to report to Philadelphia and be a part of their team now it's tough. At the same time the reality of it is that it's still a business and at the end of the day I'm still a major league baseball player," said Josh Lindblom.
After spending 5 years in the Dodgers organization, Lindblom is making the most of his opportunity in Philadelphia.
"Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels, and Jonathan Papelbon are guys that over the last five, six, seven years have been the best pitchers in the big leagues and to have the opportunity to learn from these guys and pick something up from them. You cant put a price on that knowledge. It's really cool to see how these guys go about their business," said Lindblom.
It's a new beginning, and with plenty of star power still on the roster, It's only a matter of time until Philadelphia makes another playoff run.
"You look at what the Phillies organization has done over the last ten years. They have two world championships, five time NL East Champs five years in a row. This is just a blip on the radar for this team and this organization. You look at the people they have in place here and some of the things they want to do shows that this team is not going to be held down for long," said Lindblom.
