WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Former Purdue basketball star Carl Landry continues to host his annual basketball camp which will wrap up tomorrow at West Lafayette High School.
After graduating from Purdue, Landry started his NBA career with the Houston Rockets before being traded to the Sacramento Kings and then was later dealt to the New Orleans Hornets.
Landry recently finished his fifth season in the NBA with the Hornets. The former Boilermaker is currently a free agent and the veteran is unsure of his future in the NBA.
“Right now I'm in the process of picking a team, I’m not sure where I'm going exactly but I'm a free agent and I just want to make the right decision for me and my family. My goal growing up as a kid and my dream was always to play in the NBA,” said Carl Landry.
Landry hasn’t had the easiest journey in the NBA, having already played for three NBA franchises with a fourth expected next season. However, his attitude has always been to make the most of his childhood dream regardless of which city he is playing in.
“It was never to play for a specific team. Growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I just wanted to play basketball. It didn't matter what team it was, I have played for three teams now and I'm looking for another home which would be my fourth. I'm just happy and excited to be a member of the National Basketball Association,” said Landry.
