INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) - Former Purdue Boilermaker Carl Landry is in his first season with the Golden State Warriors and his sixth season in the NBA.

Before joining the Warriors, the 29 year old Landry spent time with Houston, Sacramento, and New Orleans. Landry appreciates his time spent with each of those teams, but this season Landry has especially enjoyed being part of the Warriors organization.

"Everybody on this team gets along. We have a great coach in Mark Jackson," said Landry. "The coaching staff has done a great job of preparing us for every game and I am having a ton of fun over here."

Landry's head coach Mark Jackson raves about the six foot nine forward. Jackson says Landry has played a big role in the Warriors being the surprise team in the Western Conference.

"Carl Landry is an outstanding player. He has brought toughness, veteran leadership," said Golden State's head coach Mark Jackson. "He is a guy that is always ready, and he can flat out score in the post. He has helped change the culture of this basketball team. For us it has been a steal to have him and he has been an absolute joy to coach."

The Warriors are 33-27 on the season and are currently the sixth seed in the West. Landry and his teammates are poised and focused on making a deep run in the post season.

"There are a lot of guys playing right now that have never been to the playoffs and they have been playing for a long time," said Landry. "To have an opportunity to play for a playoff team, it only comes around once in a blue moon. So, we have to make the most of this opportunity."

Landry is playing off the Warriors bench. He is averaging 11.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
