CHICAGO, Ill. (WLFI) - Four members of the Lafayette Boxing Club traveled to Chicago this weekend to compete.

Lester Williams II and Mark Luigi Coletta lost very close matches.

Tate Sturgeon won his match. He improved to 10 and 5 overall. Also, Kate Mane won her fight and improved to 2-0 in her boxing career.

"Our two losses were pretty close and they could have gone either way," said Mane. "So, win or lose it's just exciting to go there and fight. Obviously, it is great to come back with two wins. I think this time I was less nervous and I was more excited about going into the ring. I was just focusing more on the actual fight.

Mane now focuses her attention on the Illinois Women's Boxing Challenge that will be held in Chicago on August 25th.

"Well, I just got the call that I got matched up. I am really excited and I am going to train really hard for the next month and I think it should be a lot of fun," said Mane.
