Knights make it four in a row

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette Central Catholic Knights won their fourth straight class 1A state title on Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium with a 14-0 win over Indianapolis Scecina. The Knights are the first team in class 1A to win four straight titles.

The game was tied at 0-0 at halftime but in the third quarter the Knights were able to take the lead on a Ty Preston pass to Joe Smith. He took it 54 yards for the touchdown and gave the Knights the 7-0 lead.

Central Catholic went up two scores when Timmy Mills returned a 44 yard punt for a touchdown. The Knights took a 14-0 lead and didn't look back.

The Knights' Brad Schrader rushed for 136 yards on 22 attempts. Will Jones rushed for 60 yards. Ty Preston completed 5-9 for 121 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

After the win, Central Catholic's Jimmy Mills won the Mental Attitude Award.
