West Lafayette, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette Jeff girls' golf coach John Hatter has been selected by his peers as the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association's Girls Golf Coach of the Year for the state of Indiana.

"It's always an honor when my coaching peers recognize my golf program and the things that we have done to make the Lafayette Jeff girls golf program what it is today. It all goes back to the girls, all I do as a coach is create opportunities for the girls to get better on the golf course, and also in and out of the class room," said Jeff girls golf coach John Hatter.

During his 5 year tenure at Lafayette Jeff, Hatter’s teams have won five consecutive sectional championships
(2007-2011), four consecutive city-county championships (2008-2011) and 4 consecutive trips to the state finals (2008-2011).
