IOWA CITY, IA. (WLFI) - The Purdue men's basketball team dropped another conference game on Wednesday night as Iowa defeated the Boilermakers 58-48 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Looking to complete a season sweep of Iowa and get within a game of .500 the Boilermakers looked flat and uninterested from the opening tip as Purdue (13-15, 6-9 Big Ten) droped it's third straight B1G Conference road game.
Iowa (18-10, 7-8 Big Ten) was led by Aaron White who finished with 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Hawkeyes to its fourth win in the last five games.
Purdue would put up a much tougher fight in the second half and cut the Iowa lead to 49-43 before Josh Oglesby hit a clutch three pointer in the corner to push the Hawkeyes lead back to nine.
Donnie Hale had 13 points to lead Purdue, which dropped a game behind Iowa in the B1G standings.
Purdue returns to action on Sunday as the Boilermakers travel to Madison, Wisconsin to take on the Badgers. Tip is set for 1 p.m. ET.
