DALLAS, TX (WLFI) - Danny Hope is expected to attend the Heart of Dallas Bowl featuring Purdue and Oklahoma State.

Hope sent an email to his former players to inform them that he plans on being at the game.

"I shed a tear when I read the email (that Hope is coming)," said Purdue tight end Gabe Holmes. "Real happy that he is coming."

Hope was fired as the Boilers' head coach on November 25. His firing came a day after Purdue beat Indiana 56-35. Purdue's wide receivers coach Patrick Higgins was named the interim head coach and is leading the Boilers in to the Heart of Dallas Bowl on January 1.

Purdue's new head coach Darrell Hazell also plans on attending the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Kick-off for the game is set for noon ET.
