Hoosier North focused on Colt Series

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Hoosier North missed out on the opportunity to play in the Colt World Series last season. The team failed to qualify for the event that is held annually at Loeb Stadium.

"It was a huge deal that they didn't get to play in it last year. I don't think a lot of the guys that we had on the team last year went to the Colts World Series because it was too hard for them that they weren't able to play," said Hoosier North head coach Ryan Johnson.

This summer, Hoosier North has stayed focused on making their return to the series.

"I think it would make the season to just be able to compete with those great teams there. It's our goal," said Hoosier North player Kolby Myer.

Hoosier North has played in two tournaments so far. They have a 10-1 record and recently went 6-0 at a tournament held in Ohio.

The team is now gearing up for a tournament that is held in Evansville. It will be the final tune up for the team before they compete in the local tournament that will allow them to qualify automatically for the Colt World Series. The tournament will be held July 12-15 in Lafayette at Loeb Stadium and Central Catholic.
