Five Boilers receive Big Ten honors

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Five Purdue women's basketball players received Big Ten honors on Monday. Coaches and media selected the awards.

The coaches voted Taylor Manuel to the All-Freshman Team. The coaches also selected Courtney Moses and Drey Mingo to the All-Big Ten third team, while Sam Ostarello and KK Houser earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention.

The media named Ostarello second team All-Big Ten, while Moses was named third team and Mingo was named honorable mention.

The coaches selected Nebraska's Connie Yori as Big Ten Coach of the Year. The media selected Penn State's Coquese Washington as the Big Ten Coach of the Year.

Penn State's Maggie Lucas was named Big Ten Player of the Year by both the coaches and media.

Northwestern’s Maggie Lyon was selected Freshman of the Year by the coaches and media.

Illinois senior Adrienne GodBold was named Defensive Player of the Year and Iowa’s Melissa Dixon was named Sixth Player of the Year.
