Cross country sectionals wrap up

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The girls and boys high school cross country sectionals took place on Tuesday night at the Tippecanoe Amphitheater.

In the girls race, West Lafayette finished in the top seven spots to win the sectional title. Harrison took second followed by Frankfort in third.

West Lafayette's Bobbi Burgess broke her old record of 18:30 with a time of 17:36 to claim the individual title. West Lafayette's Cailey Daluga finished second while West Lafayette's Lauren Johnson took third.

In the boys race, West Lafayette's Cooper Williams finished in first place with a time of 16:18 but the sectional title went to McCutcheon. The Mavericks snapped West Lafayette's three year run as the sectional champs. West Lafayette finished in second place followed by Lafayette Jeff in third.

McCutcheon's Jacob Wickes took second followed by Harrison's Jacob Payne in third.
