LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Colt World series brings in nearly two million dollars to the Greater Lafayette area.

Hundreds of teen baseball players, coaches and families from around the world are in Lafayette competing in the 10-team Colt World Series baseball tournament.

Officials say visitors and fans attending the games bring financial benefits to retailers, restaurants and hotels.

They say Lafayette's positive economic impact from the Colt World Series tops 1.5 million dollars.

Coming up Monday night on NewsChannel 18 at 11, we'll hear from the Convention and Visitor's Bureau and the Colt World Series president about what that additional revenue means for Greater Lafayette.
