WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - According to a Purdue news release, Purdue sophomore point guard Lewis Jackson will be out indefinitely due to a foot injury.

Jackson underwent foot surgery Tuesday morning to repair a foot injury suffered late last week, the release said.

Purdue Head Basketball Coach Matt Painter stressed that the team did not intend to rush Jackson back to the court.

“We’ll miss having Lewis on the court while he recuperates, but it’s important that we take the necessary steps to ensure his full recovery. Lewis has a great work ethic, and I have no doubt that the manner in which he approaches his rehab will reflect that," said Painter.
