WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Former Purdue diver David Boudia earned his second trip to the Olympics late Thursday night.

Boudia and his teammate Nick McCrory competed in the synchronized 10-meter competition. The duo blew away the competition as they won their event by 180 points to earn a trip to compete in the Olympics in London.

"London was the main goal, but we have a lot of hard work to do in the next three to four weeks," said Boudia.

This has been my dream, and I've finally reached my lifelong goal," McCrory said.

During the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Boudia finished tenth on 10-meter and fifth in synchro. The United States has not won an Olympic medal in diving since 2000 and is without a men’s medal since 1996.

Boudia will also try and earn a spot in the Olympic games in the 10-meter on Saturday. He earned a silver medal at the World Championships in that event last year.
