WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Purdue men's basketball needs every win they can get as their regular season schedule winds down. The Boilers are currently on the bubble to make the NCAA tournament if the regular season ended this weekend.
Purdue has lost four out of their last five games. The Boilers are in a three way tie for 6th place in the Big Ten standings as they resume action on Keady Court. Tomorrow, the Boilermakers will face Northwestern at Mackey Arena. Tip-off is set for 6 o'clock and the Boilers understand just how important every win will be as the regular season comes to a close.
"It's very important. We're getting down to make it or break it time here so if we want to make the tournament we have to get on a roll here and start making some moves," said senior Robbie Hummel.
The Boilermakers know their backs are against the wall and are not taking anything for granted.
"As of right now, I don't think we're in to be honest. We have to win some games here and put together a good streak here and hopefully we can do that so we can do some damage in the tournament," said senior Ryne Smith.
Purdue will look to win the season series against the Wildcats, the Boilers won the first meeting 58-56 on January 28, 2012.
