WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Cornerback Ricardo Allen, defensive tackle Kawann Short and quarterback Caleb TerBush will represent Purdue at the 2012 Big Ten Media Day and Kickoff Luncheon.

The annual event will be held at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago on July 26-27.

Allen and Short were both named to the watch list for the 2012 Chuck Bednarik Award on Monday, while TerBush is coming off a junior season that saw him start all 13 games for the Boilermakers and complete 171 of 277 passing attempts for 1,905 yards and 13 touchdowns against merely six interceptions.

The trio was instrumental in helping Purdue become bowl eligible last season for the first since 2007, resulting in a 37-32 victory over Western Michigan in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl in Detroit in December.

The Boilermaker representatives to the Chicago events were all voted 2012 captains by their teammates upon the conclusion of spring practices in April.
