WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Central Catholic graduate and Purdue freshman Danny Anthrop saw time on special teams and on offense against Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. It was the first time that Anthrop played in a game in a Boiler uniform.

"I thought it was a great experience to get in and get an opportunity," said Anthrop. "I played pretty well and got a lot of great opportunities around me to allow me to get in at that point. I got in first on special teams. My heart was pumping pretty good. They kicked it out of bounds so I got time to relax and go at it again."

Anthrop carried the ball two times on offense in the final drive of the game. He totaled 11 yards in a drive that ended in a Rob Henry touchdown pass to Justin Sinz.

"It was pretty awesome," said Anthrop. "In practice I take more receptions than carries so it was a little bit different in that aspect."

Purdue Head Coach Danny Hope raved about Anthrop after Purdue's 48-6 win over Eastern Kentucky.

"He's doing fantastic and I am sure glad that we have him on our football team. He's very fast and tough and he is wiry strong," said Hope. "He would cut his arm off for his teammates and coaches and if you were to cut his arm off he would bleed gold and black. He's very proud to be a Boilermaker and he is a heck of a prospect and a winner. He certainly is a winner. So, great things in store for Danny Anthrop."

Purdue will face Notre Dame next Saturday in South Bend. Kick-off is set for 3:30 pm.

Notes:

--Quarterback Caleb TerBush will be back at practice on Monday. He has been reinstated with the team.
