INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) - The annual North/South All-Star football game took place at North Central high school in Indianapolis on Friday night.

Central Catholic's Danny Anthrop played for the North squad. He scored North's only touchdown of the game and received the Tyler Roth most valuable player of the game award.

“My dad asked me about it earlier in the week and I just kind of laughed at him. It was a goal of mine but I didn't ever think I could get it. Especially since we lost, I didn't know if I would get it or not,” said Danny Anthrop.

Anthrop enjoyed the experience with his teammates and even though they didn't win, he was glad he played for the North team.

“It was a great experience and I'm definitely glad I was on the North team and not the South team. I think we had a little bit more fun then they did,” said Anthrop.

The North All-Star's did everything they could to keep the game close but continued to struggle when they needed a big play. South won the game 16-7 but Anthrop is happy they didn't get shut out.

“I'm definitely glad we didn't get shut out. We had to get on the board and we started to roll a few times. Every time we got momentum we got it taken away from us somehow. It was a great experience and I'll remember it forever,” said Anthrop.
