WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Shane Fry has been hired as the new head football coach at West Lafayette High School, announced Wednesday night by West Lafayette Athletic Director Brock Touloukian.
Fry has spent the last seven years serving as a Red Devils assistant coach, most recently as defensive coordinator.
Fry takes over the Red Devils head coaching post from longtime leader Marshall Overley, who announced his retirement in November.
Fry has also served as an assistant coach at West Lafayette with girls basketball and softball. Most recently, Fry had been the boys head golf coach at West Lafayette for the past eight years.
"I think the transition's going to be smooth. Everything's been pretty consistent for our guys for thoe seven years I've been here. I even told them today, I'm not coming in and changing everything. It'll be a very smooth transition," said West Lafayette head coach Shane Fry.
