WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A big day at Harrison Wednesday for a Raiders football player as Matt Schmidt signed a national letter of intent to play college next season Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer.

Schmidt was the Raiders Most Valuable Player in 2012 and earned All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference and All-Region honors. Schmidt played linebacker, defensive end, and special teams during his prep career with the Raiders in which he was a three-year starter.

Schmidt was joined for his signing day celebration at Harrison by his parents, Jim and Robin, his brother, Jacob, and a large number of friends.
