SAN DIEGO, Calif. (WLFI) - San Diego Padres pitcher and Lafayette native Clayton Richard pitched eight strong innings to post his tenth win of the season Sunday, a 7-1 decision over the San Francisco Giants at Petco Park in San Diego.
Richard allowed just one unearned run in eight innings of work to improve his season record to 10-12 and lower his season earned run average to 3.73.
Richard, who allowed just five hits to the Giants Sunday, has pitched well during the last two months and especially as of late. The former McCutcheon Mavericks great has a record of 3-1 and an ERA of 2.02 in his last five starts.
