CLEMSON, South Carolina (WLFI) - Senior D.J. Byrd connected on six 3-point field goals in the first half to spark Purdue to a 73-61 road victory over Clemson Wednesday night, a game that was part of the Big Ten-ACC Challenge.
Byrd finished with a team-high 22 points. The Boilermaker guard-forward also grabbed seven rebounds and had two steals.
Terone Johnson added 13 points and six assists for the Boilers. Freshmen Ronnie Johnson, the younger brother of Terone Johnson, and A.J. Hammons added 10 points each.
The Boilermakers evened their season record at 3-3 and host Xavier Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at Mackey Arena.
