WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Former Purdue football great Ryan Kerrigan will serve as a spokesman for the 12th Boiler Program, which endows scholarships for Boilermaker football.
The announcement was made Wednesday by Purdue Trademark and Licensing Director David Wilson.
Partnered with 47Brand.com, money raised by the 12th Boiler Program will come in part through the selling of Boilermaker hats and t-shirts that Kerrigan will help select.
"I'm honored to have been chosen to be a part of this process because I really like and can appreciate what the 12th Boiler Program stands for," Kerrigan said Wednesday.
Kerrigan is heading into his second season as a linebacker and defensive end for the NFL's Washington Redskins. Kerrigan was picked by the Redskins in the 1st round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
