WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - It appears as if Purdue Athletic Director Morgan Burke will have to go to Plan B in his search for a head football coach.

GoldandBlack.com is reporting a source says Tuesday morning that Cincinnati Bearcats Head Coach Butch Jones will not be coming to Purdue to take the Boilermakers head coaching position, which became open when Danny Hope was fired nine days ago.

Jones met with Burke on Purdue's campus Sunday to interview for the position then flew to Colorado Monday to meet with Colorado officials about the Buffaloes head coaching position.

The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that Jones is expected at some point Tuesday to accept the position at Colorado or to remain at Cincinnati.

GoldandBlack.com is also reporting that Kent State Head Coach Darrell Hazell is "in play" as a possible head coaching candidate for the Boilermakers.
