WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The agent of former Purdue basketball standout Robbie Hummel confirms that Hummel will play professionally in Spain during the upcoming season.

The decision by Hummel comes a little more than a month after Hummel was picked in the second round of the NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The former Boiler posted on his social media Twitter account Wednesday, "Thanks to everyone for the congrats. I'm looking forward to getting over to Spain to get to work."

Hummel will play for the Obradoiro CAB franchise located in Santiago, Spain.

Hummel hopes to return to the Timberwolves in 2013 but, at the moment, Minnesota has a surplus of forwards on its roster.

Hummel was the Boilermakers leading scorer and rebounder during thr 2011-2012 season, earning First-Team All-Big Ten honors and leading Purdue to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
