WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - On February 7, 2013 both Harrison and McCutcheon high schools received a formal invitation to join the esteemed North Central Conference (NCC) as member schools beginning in 2014-2015.
The Athletic Departments of Harrison and McCutcheon high schools are honored to receive the invitation.
"It's been a pleasure becoming more and more familiar with the NCC as we've thoroughly considered the possibilities of future membership in the NCC," McCutcheon Athletic Director Ryan Walden said in a statement released Monday night.
"Based on these positive interactions, extensive discussions, and a comprehensive review of the merits of the possibilities for our student-athletes, it is our intent to offer a favorable recommendation for acceptance of the invitation to our Central Office Administration ," Harrison Athletic Director Jerry Galema said in a statement released Monday evening.
On Friday, Harrison and McCutcheon collectively offered a preliminary response to the NCC indicating receipt of the invitation, sincere appreciation, an expression of excitement for the future, and a timeline for a response. Both schools plan to provide a written decision on or before Feb. 14.
Lafayette Jeff accepted an invitation to join the NCC Monday evening. The Bronchos will officially join the NCC beginning in the 2014-2015 school year.
