OMAHA, Neb. (WLFI) - Former Harrison Raiders swimming star Jenny Connolly qualified for the finals of the 100 meter backstroke Tuesday at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Nebraska.
Connolly advanced to the finals of the 100 backstroke by qualifying fifth in the semifinals with a time of 1:00.58. Earlier Tuesday Connolly earned a semifinal berth by clocking a time of 1:01.47 in the preliminaries of the 100 backstroke.
Connolly finished 12th in the semifinals of the 100 butterfly Tuesday with a time of 59.17 seconds but was unable to qualify for the finals.
Connolly won five state championships during her spectacular career with the Raiders and just finished a distinguished college career at the University of Tennessee.
