Colt World Series starts Friday

Four games scheduled on first day of tourney

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The 2012 Colt World Series gets underway Friday with four games scheduled to take place on the opening day of the youth baseball tournament at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette.

A team from Laredo, Texas will take on a squad from Greensboro, North Carolina at noon. The opening game will be followed by a ballclub from South Korea facing a youth team from Paderborn, Germany at 2:30 p.m.

The area entry team in the Colt World Series, Hoosier North, will take on a team from Mexico at 5:30 p.m. The final game of the first day will have the host team, the Lafayette All-Stars, taking on a squad from Ottawa, Illinois at eight p.m.

The championship game of 2012 Colt World Series is scheduled for Thursday, August 9 at seven p.m.
