Los Gatos to meet Puerto Rico Thursday

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Defending champion Los Gatos, California and Bayamon, Puerto Rico will meet in the championship game of the 2012 Colt World Series Thursday after both teams posted Tuesday night victories.

The title game of the Colt World Series is slated to start at seven p.m. Thursday night at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette.

Los Gatos, California advanced to the championship game thanks to defeating the team from Mexico 9-6. Mexico had the tying run at the plate in the top of the seventh but Los Gatos was able to get the final out on a line drive to the outfield.

Bayamon, Puerto Rico qualified for the title game by rallying to defeat a team from Ottawa, Illinois by a final of 12-8.
