MIAMI, Fla. (WLFI) - Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron threw four TD passes to lead the Crimson Tide to a convincing 42-14 victory over Notre Dame in college football's BCS national championship game Monday night in Miami, Florida.

Alabama never trailed in the lopsided contest as the Crimson Tide captured their third national title in the past four seasons.

Crimson Tide running backs Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon rushed for over 100 yards apiece as the Crimson Tide jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead.

The Fighting Irish, which finished the season 12-1, scored a pair of second-half touchdowns. Quarterback Everette Golson scored on a two-yard run in the third quarter and Golson tossed a six-yard TD pass to Theo Riddick in the fourth quarter.
