TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Tippecanoe County may save nearly $200,000.00 a year by using new software that will replace paper time cards.

The Commissioners approved purchasing TimeForce Software, a computerized system that will no longer require employees and department heads to track hours by hand.

Commissioner Tom Murtaugh said beginning January 1 county employees will log all their hours worked online. He said it will save the county time and money.

"The numbers we have show it could save up to $200,000 a year in labor costs, in the paperwork saved, and in the amount of time it takes for the department heads to approve those payroll expenses as they are coming out on paper," said Murtaugh.

Murtaugh says it will cost the county nearly $51,000 dollars to purchase the TimeForce software.
