Lafayette, Ind. (WLFI) - Subaru announced its best March and first quarter sales ever.
The company sold more than 57,000 vehicles in the first three months of the year an increase of nearly 40 percent over the first quarter of 2009.
Vehicles produced at SIA in Lafayette are the Legacy, Tribeca and top selling Outback.
Sales for the Outback were up more than 125 percent in the first three months of this year. Legacy sales are up 11 percent. Sales for the Tribeca are down.
In the month of March alone Subaru reported more than 23,700 units sold.
The previous March sales record was set four years ago, with 19,000 units sold.
