LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Kirby Risk Service Center is eliminating 34 employee positions.

Manufacturing President Doug Mansfield says the layoffs are a result of a slowing demand from customers.

He says the economy continues to have a negative impact on business.

Mansfield says, if the economy picks up, workers could be called back.

Kirby Risk laid off more than 100 employees earlier this year.

Kirby Risk manufactures products like electrical wiring harnesses and control panels and creates wires for other companies such as Caterpillar.
