TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Despite the economy, Tippecanoe County could end the year with money in the bank.
Council President Kevin Underwood said projections show there will be a positive balance going into the new year.
"That's typically, to a certain degree, the way we do our budgeting. Because we do expenses over revenues and not looking at the cash balance that we have kind of back in the hip pocket. So, that gives us the flexibility to be able to look at what we need to be able to afford for next year," said Underwood.
Underwood said so far the projection is a cash balance of around $500,000.
