Residents brave snow for free breakfast

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Despite snow in the forecast, hundreds of area residents packed the parking lot at Denny's.

The restaurant served up free Grand Slam Breakfasts to everyone who walked in. The giveaway stems from commercials aired during Super Bowl 44.

Lafayette resident Brian Hoffman said despite the snow, this super deal was too good to pass up.

"We grew up in Wisconsin so we are used to lots of snow, so we know how to drive and it did not hold us back at all," said Hoffman.

Denny's General Manager Caroline Clark says their location gave out 1,600 Grand Slams last year. She said she and her staff expected to see even more people in 2010.
